Club Pelican Bay

design challenge

Located near the beaches of Southwest Florida, The Club Pelican Bay is a celebrated residential community. The new clubhouse needed to be an elegant, impressive two-story clubhouse with fun, friendly and flexible spaces that serve members and guests. The design had to celebrate the open-area site with separate locker room and fitness facilities.

design solution

We drew from the history of Florida Vernacular Architecture to create a large central rotunda with a curved stairway that connected the upper level banquet rooms and the ground floor member-tavern, atrium and formal dining rooms. The upper level offered a central fire feature and a terrace that highlighted the views of the lake and open green with large scale oaks.
